Since I went fully vegan a few months ago I've been trying out so many new recipes. Some go horribly wrong and some turn out amazing. Like these Donuts i've been making all the time lately. They are super quick and easy to make, fully vegan and have never failed me yet. You can also decorate them just the way you want.
I use a donut maker to make mine and i am not sure if they will work just as well in silicone molds but you can definitely fry the dough. It's gonna be a different shape then but taste just as delicious.
INGREDIENTS:
250 g of flour
3 tbsp of sugar
1/2 - 1 pck of baking powder
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
250 g of unsweetened soy yoghurt
65 ml of plant based milk
Just put all the ingredients together and mix until they are very well combined. Then heat up your donut maker (or heat a good amount of oil in your pan) and bake or fry the donuts until they are lightly golden.
Then comes the best part. Decorate them just the way you like. My favorite ways so far have been with icing and sprinkles, dark chocolate and coconut flakes. The pretty basic cinnamon-sugar toping is also pretty good.
If you end up trying out this recipe please tag me in your creations on Instagram because i would love to see them.
By the way: If you're looking for a donut maker I have been using this one for a few years now and i'm very happy with it. It has interchangeable molds for donuts, cake pops and cupcakes and is also pretty low priced:
